Genesis 24: 58-61

58 So they called Rebekah and asked her, “Will you go with this man?”

“I will go,” she said.

59 So they sent their sister Rebekah on her way, along with her nurse and Abraham’s servant and his men. 60 And they blessed Rebekah and said to her,

“Our sister, may you increase
    to thousands upon thousands;
may your offspring possess
    the cities of their enemies.”

61 Then Rebekah and her attendants got ready and mounted the camels and went back with the man. So the servant took Rebekah and left.

When we pay attention to the detail

dotting the "i"s and crossing the "t"s

making sure everything is in place…

When we enjoy the build up and the preparation

we are less likely to be disappointed in the finale.

God, you encourage us to enjoy the moment, every moment

to be present to the joy and opportunity that surrounds us,

to be present, too, to the struggle and conflict

and to see in those, ways to learn and to grow,

ways to spread the love that you so freely give.

So, as we journey through life, may our every day contain something of you

and your love as we love dreams into being

and hopes into reality

with no rehearsal

but living every moment in the fullness of love and life.
