We are planting trees!

We are planting trees!
We have been inspired by our September theme Planting Prayers of Peace to sponsor the planting of five trees in Perthshire. They will be an ongoing legacy – living prayers of peace for our world.
We are contributing to the work of the John Muir Trust who are restoring wild woods in Schiehallion in the Highlands. Pictured here is the certificate we received from the trust including our dedication: “Planting Prayers for Peace - We open our eyes, ears and hearts to creation - With God's help we can plant prayers of peace and let them grow.”
Our world is a beautiful place and it is our duty to work together to care for it, just as we must work together to build bonds of peace. Our efforts at peace-making might start small, seeds you can hold in your hand, but with tender commitment they can grow up into the sky providing the shelter, fruit, and life-giving oxygen our world longs for.
The rewilding in Schiehallion begins to repair the entire ecosystem and invites back little-seen birds, pine martens and red squirrels. They are planted in hope of renewal and expectation of transformation. The active prayers and thoughtful actions of peace we take in our lives are planted in the same way – tentatively but courageously — knowing peace is possible and we can be part of bringing it about.
Oh God as we plant these living prayers of possibility in Perthshire — plant in us the hope and expectation of peace near and far across this whole beautiful world.
