The Inward Journey: Praying with our Hands

Peter Neilson1 August 07, 2012 0 0

1 Timothy 2:8

I want people everywhere to life up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing.

Body language speaks louder than words. The position of our bodies is a form of prayer.

This prayer involves the simple use of our hands.

Palms Upward - Giving thanks to God the Father…...

We give thanks to our God, for Your love endures forever.

Palms Downward - Offering your concerns to God the Son…...

Into the hands of Christ our Saviour place our concerns, one by one..

Palms Outward - Blessing others

In the name of the Father, Son and Spirit, we bless…..

Hands Cupped - Receiving the blessing of God the Holy Spirit

With open hands and open hearts, Holy Spirit, we welcome you.

Hands as Footsteps - Putting one step in front of the other

Father, Son and Holy Spirit,

God who is, and who was and who is to come,

in trust and obedience, may we discern where you are leading us today. AMEN
