The gift of silence…

December 16, 2013 0 0

Habakkuk 2:20

“But oh! God is in his holy Temple! Quiet everyone—a holy silence. Listen!”

Father, I thank you for the gift of silence on my journey.
When I say I thank you for silence I mean I really thank you for allowing my heart
and mind to be clear of noise and distractions.
It’s not an easy thing to find but it is a gift you ask me to
search for and one I need to find.
It’s so hard to find a place of silence in my world where everything is 24/7 and 365.
The demands upon me are so great that I feel crushed inside.
My strength is going and I feel guilty for not being stronger.
My job, my family, my Church, my friends, my relationship with you.
I need them all but some of them take too much of me and I feel less than whole.
Do I need to ask you to forgive me for not going to the Church prayer time?
Do you understand that I was exhausted and that my children needed
me to help with their homework?
I know You understand Father but why can’t my Church family?
They judge my commitment to you by how many meetings I attend or miss.

Silence.

I need to have more silence.

Let me hear you and only you.

Help me reconfigure this crushed life.

Help me finish this journey.

“Be still and know that I am God!” ………..

Found you again Jesus….or did you find me?

Amen.
