After Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt and said, “Get up, take the child and his mother and go to the land of Israel, for those who were trying to take the child’s life are dead.”
Four times God spoke to Joseph in a dream…
Lord, what are you saying to me
in the depths of my unconscious
when reason is stilled in sleep
and deep desires battle like dragons in the soul?
Lord, am I editing out your voice
by ignoring that recurring dream
or silencing that dormant dream
which you planted in me long ago?
Lord, am I meant to be a dreamer
of your Kingdom coming
of all things new
beyond my wildest dreams?
Lord, speak to me in my dreams
the night dreams and the day dreams.
