Remember Me

Romans 8: 26-17

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.

Romans 8: 26 - 27
We all have problems with prayer, it’s one of the ways we are kept humble, we’ve never got is ‘sussed’. St Paul admits that there are times ‘we don’t know how or what to pray’.  But don’t worry!  God prays within us, because he lives in us. Our attempts at prayer are enough; our desire to pray link up, by God’s Spirit, the Christ within us and our Father in heaven.
This takes the pressure off, releases us to come before God as a cherished child to a loving parent; and we can enjoy God forever. ‘That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good” (v 27)
That doesn’t mean everything is going to be ‘happy ever after’ but that whatever happens, in the hands of God, by the grace of God, through the love of God, in his time, things will work out. And it will be good ‘ All manner of things will be well’.

Romans 8: 3, 5
‘Simply embrace what the Spirit is doing in us…those who trust God’s action in them, find that God’s spirit is in them - living and breathing God!’

Prayer

Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom. Amen
