Re work us

July 17, 2016 0 0

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: the old has gone, the new is here!

Do you remember playing with plasticine when you were a child?  When it was new it had to be worked at to make it pliable but then, once it was softened, the creative sky was the limit and the great thing about plasticine was (and is) that it can squished so that the user can start all over again.

God in Christ offers us a fresh start every minute of every day.

Today, take and make the time to focus on how Christ takes your past and helps you to re-shape the present and the future.

Lord Jesus,

Help us simply to ‘be’ in you –

To find warm acceptance

And quiet, life-giving contentment…

And as we breathe in the delight of your company,

Remind us how you take us from what we were

To what we are and could be…

Gently smooth out the bumps

And fill in the cracks of our lives,

And our personalities.

Help us to let you re work us

Into the people you want us to be.

Not squashed by you

But set free

To be all we can be.

Knowing that nothing -

Not even us -

can limit your creativity.

Keep making us new.
