Ecc. 12:1

Remember your creator in the days of your youth, before the day of trouble come and the years approach when you will say, “I find no pleasure in them”

Drugs and drug related issues. As a result of the low self esteem and other related issues a number of youth have reverted to abusing drugs and alcohol. The drugs are readily available in the community through cartels that take advantage of the innocence of the youth. This trend of drug abuse is alarming. The most widely abused drug is bhang. The local government due to corruption only play lip service in the fight against the drug menace. The addictive and destructive nature of these drugs have pushed the youth into a life of criminal activities such as rape, robbery, muggings among other things. Youth who engage in these acts are very hostile and a threat to the community at large yet they still carry the image and likeness of God within them.

May the law enforcing agencies take their work seriously and deal with the drug menace in the slums. May the Lord challenge the drug lords who ruin the life of the innocent youth to turn from their wicked trade into meaningful economic activities that can bring community transformation. May the youth stay away from drugs and drugs related activities.
