Psalm 32: 7 (NRSVA)

7 

You are a hiding-place for me;
    you preserve me from trouble;
    you surround me with glad cries of deliverance. Selah

When I was wee I was an avid reader. I created a wee den for myself where I could go and forget about the world and read my books in peace. So armed with my books, a cup of tea (I was and still am a tea-jenny) and some biscuits I’d hide away in my wee haven and be lost in another world.

As an adult it can be difficult to find a den, a hiding place from the storms and difficulties of life. 

That is why this line in Psalm 32:7 is like balm to our weary souls. How comforting is it to know that the Lord, our God is our hiding place.

He protects us from trouble
And in the storms of life is singing songs of deliverance over us.
How amazing and beautiful is that! 
The Lord is singing songs of deliverance over us.

 

PRAYER:

 

Lord God

Thank you, you are our safe haven

Thank you, you are our hiding place

Thank you, you are our refuge in times of trouble

Thank you, that you bless us with your steadfast, enduring love

Amen
