Joy of the journey of faith

Philippians 4:1-7

Therefore, my brothers and sisters, you whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, stand firm in the Lord in this way, dear friends!

I plead with Euodia and I plead with Syntyche to be of the same mind in the Lord. Yes, and I ask you, my true companion, help these women since they have contended at my side in the cause of the gospel, along with Clement and the rest of my co-workers, whose names are in the book of life.

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Walking among tall trees in spring
glory to God, creator.

Hearing the dawn chorus of birds or the lark rising
glory to God, creator.

Seeing images of stellar constellations or microscopic crystal formations
glory to God, creator.

Learning of a man from Nazareth calling ordinary people to follow him
glory to God, saviour.

Listening to his stories of lost things and found things,
a kingdom growing like seeds,
a prodigal father and a caring generous stranger
glory to God, saviour.

Feeling the agony of life’s betrayals and murderous tendencies in the one story of His suffering and crucifixion
only to be given new life that we might have hope and joy
glory to God, saviour.

Glory to God,
healing spirit leading us into well being after all we might suffer.

Glory to God,
transforming spirit calling from us the gifts we never knew we had.

Glory to God,
joy bringer helping us dance to the tune of the Kingdom of God in joyful abandon.

Amen
