I’ve started, so I’ll finish

Philippians 1:6

​“He who began a good work in us will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

​Lord God,

you don’t need me to tell you 

that I have lots of unfinished business—

projects begun with great enthusiasm

but never quite completed

and some of them hopelessly abandoned.

I can’t understand why

you haven’t already given up on me,

but you’re asking me to believe it—

that what you’ve started

you will finish.

I can’t imagine it: but I’m going to trust it

because you said it!
