Listen to this daily worship

Isaiah 51: 1-6 (NLT)

1 Listen to me, all who hope for deliverance—
    all who seek the Lord!
Consider the rock from which you were cut,
the quarry from which you were mined.
2 Yes, think about Abraham, your ancestor,
and Sarah, who gave birth to your nation.
Abraham was only one man when I called him.
But when I blessed him, he became a great nation.”

3 The Lord will comfort Israel again
and have pity on her ruins.
Her desert will blossom like Eden,
her barren wilderness like the garden of the Lord.
Joy and gladness will be found there.
Songs of thanksgiving will fill the air.

4 “Listen to me, my people.
    Hear me, Israel,
for my law will be proclaimed,
and my justice will become a light to the nations.
5 My mercy and justice are coming soon.
My salvation is on the way.
My strong arm will bring justice to the nations.
All distant lands will look to me
and wait in hope for my powerful arm.
6 Look up to the skies above,
and gaze down on the earth below.
For the skies will disappear like smoke,
and the earth will wear out like a piece of clothing.
The people of the earth will die like flies,
    but my salvation lasts forever.
My righteous rule will never end!

This reading is not about us, we are the rock out of focus because the call is clear:

‘Consider the rock from which you were cut.’

This is all about God.

And as a people of God we are called to be like God.

What is God like?

Blesses, comforts and cares for those who have nothing. Transforms emptiness to life.

That’s my God!

Just and light, merciful and saves the weak. Brings righteousness that never ends.

That’s my God!

That’s you.

We, the stones cut from the Eternal rock, individually and as the Body of Jesus, are blessings, who comfort and care for those with nothing, transforming emptiness to life.

We are just and light, merciful and protect the weak working to bring righteousness that makes the world a better place.

We do this By His Spirit, with every kind word and loving action, no matter how big or small.

But this is not about us, we are to be out of focus.

It’s all about God.

Prayer:

Lifting up our eyes from ourselves we see more clearly who you are and what you are like God.

The Lord is my rock, Yahweh Tsuri, is your name.

You are what we stand on, grow from, live from. The Rock that forms the ground we walk on and the dust we are formed from.

Forgive us when you are out of focus, where there is too much focus on ourselves.

Jesus, it is all about you, how we think and move and live. And you are wonderful! Compassionate and caring, make us like you.

Tenderly just and righteous, Spirit make your Church more like this in our world.

Yes, Holy Spirit, come and refill our Church, reinvigorate us to have ourselves out of focus where every day, it is all about God.

Today I fill the air with songs of thanksgiving, for it is all about you! Hallelujah!

Amen.
