Fearfully and wonderfully made

September 01, 2014 0 0

Psalm 139: 13-14

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

Lord it scares me slightly that the being who created all things, and who stands outside time and space as we know it, can look into my mother's womb and see me being formed, and at the same time know how every day of my life will go. That you can create a mountain or a waterfall, and know the shape of every snowflake, yet know my inmost thoughts and fears, is something which leaves me breathless, wondering and just a little afraid.  Yet you call me your child and I can call you "Dad", and you know me, and love me more than I can ever know. When I am in the darkest places you find me there, and when I'm on the mountain top, you're right there with me. Thank you Father God, for being you, and for loving me in ways I will never completely fathom. I am so grateful and just rest in that love.
Amen.
