F - Faith

Listen to this daily worship
Hebrews 11: 1-3 (NRSVA)
1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. 2 Indeed, by faith our ancestors received approval. 3 By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was made from things that are not visible.
So what it is it actually like having a faith? What does it feel like?
Having faith…
is being part of a noisy family
it’s having a library card to a huge archive
it’s having someone to talk to in the middle of the night
it’s a vague sense of something that gets me through the day
it’s a crystal clear insight out of the blue
it’s unexpected beauty
it’s sorrow and hope
it’s a handful of answers and a boatload of questions
it’s the wisdom of friends
it’s a sense of belonging
it’s being recognised
it’s being fed
it’s being heard.
PRAYER:
Dear God,
There are as many kinds and expression of faith
as there are believers,
We are no two of us the same,
but we are perhaps all looking for an ear,
for a shoulder,
for something to eat.
I rejoice in the fact
that in you
we have space to belong
and time to be heard.
Amen.
