Listen to this daily worship

Isaiah 56: 1, 6-8 (NRSVA)

1 Thus says the Lord:
    Maintain justice, and do what is right,
for soon my salvation will come,
    and my deliverance be revealed.

6 And the foreigners who join themselves to the Lord,
    to minister to him, to love the name of the Lord,
    and to be his servants,
all who keep the sabbath, and do not profane it,
    and hold fast my covenant—
7 these I will bring to my holy mountain,
    and make them joyful in my house of prayer;
their burnt-offerings and their sacrifices
    will be accepted on my altar;
for my house shall be called a house of prayer
    for all peoples.
8 Thus says the Lord God,
    who gathers the outcasts of Israel,
I will gather others to them
    besides those already gathered.

I am a fan of Masterchef. This past season of Masterchef and Young Masterchef has showcased some tastebud-tantalising fusions of British classic cuisine with food from around the world. As the granddaughter of a Polish migrant it brings me such joy to see this culinary sharing of food cultures being mainstream.

In the future more people sadly will become climate change refugees and migrants. We will as a global community need to create ecosystems of hope where cultures can join and fuse. Where refugees and migrants can rebuild their lives, share their gifts, share their culture and feel they are valued and loved.

PRAYER:

Father God,

Help us to see everyone as you do,

Help us to see everyone as your precious children.

Help us to see people’s giftings

Their value

and their contribution.

Help us to seek a world where we are truly united as your family

Creating around us an ecosystem of hope.

Amen
