A glimpse of journey’s end

Job 19:25,26

I know that my redeemer liveth, and that He shall stand at the latter day upon the earth; and though worms destroy this body yet in my flesh shall I see God.

Lord, sometimes the whole world seems to be against us.  Things happen to us which don’t seem fair.  A job is lost just when things were going well.  A loved one dies just before Christmas.  Someone we thought was a friend turns against us and all we thought was secure turns to dust and ashes around us.  Real good friends offer advice and help but still the way ahead is difficult to see.

Then we turn to you, Lord, and suddenly all our questions and concerns are taken from us and held in your love.  We gain the reassurance we need.  We see the way ahead open up and hope springs anew.  Thank you that, with you behind us, we will see the light at the end of our tunnel and know that we are not alone as we walk towards it.
