Life Frame Part 3

Having completed our reflections on the first two temptations as outlined in Luke’s gospel, we turn to the last temptation. If the first temptation was focussing on the God’s Word, the second on the place of worship this month the focus for me seems to be on a proper understanding of Grace. Through this temptation Jesus seeks to teach us to be careful that we never take God’s grace and loving compassionate character for granted. We need to reflect on the place of reverence and gratitude when we seek to act out the gospel of Jesus. Too often we have taken the creation for granted, we have taken, relationships for granted ind doing so we have put ourselves at the centre of the creation rather than God. We will see to ask these questions of the Church, of the individual and also of society itself. We are all guilty of pushing the envelope too far and the out comes for many are proving to be costing a high price.
