We thank Lily Cathcart for her Daily Worship week and we welcome Dan Harper, minister of Bridge of Allan Parish Church who begins our new theme for Lent Come Follow Me. He begins Sunday 15 February.
Dan is a Church of Scotland minister who is fairly sure he hasn’t got God figured out, and is increasingly convinced that this is probably a good thing. He is the parish minister at Bridge of Allan Parish Church, where worship, questions, laughter, and the occasional raised eyebrow coexist quite happily. Dan cares deeply about inclusion, justice, and lived faith, and remains suspicious of anything that sounds overly certain, overly polished, or overly simple.
This week he writes about mountaintops, trumpets and the curved corners of a life of faith.
"Help us to live in ways that free us to hear you when you speak. Give us patience and perseverance when all seems quiet, and the permission to push forward when the Spirit speaks."
