Week 5: Abstract

Join us every Tuesday morning from 11am to 12.15/12.30pm to draw/paint together every week. It will be a time of drawing and painting and plenty of conversation. Complete beginners are very welcome as well as more experienced artists too.

This week we’ll do abstract painting using acrylic paints - our painting will be in a ‘Jackson Pollock’ style something like the photo above. 

If you are able to print it out the image to have it beside you whilst drawing, I'm sure you'll find this helpful on the day. Otherwise, you can perhaps view it on your phone ?

What you'll need:

Acrylic paints in a variety of colours 

White acrylic paint

A palette knife (or a size 20 round brush or flat brush (about 10mm wide))

Sturdy watercolour/mixed media paper in A3 (or A4 will also be fine)

A jar of water

Kitchen roll or cloth for wiping

Masking tape to mask out the edges (decorators masking tape or very low adhesion sticky tape is perfect)

How do i join?

The zoom link to join will apear above on this page at 11AM on Tuesdays. To join you will need a phone/tablet or laptop with a built in camera and microphone (most modern devices come with this) you may need to download the zoom app onto your phone if you are using a phone to join.
