This week we're going to create - A Beach Scene in Soft Pastels

Join us every Tuesday morning from 11am to 12.15/12.30pm to draw/paint together every week. It will be a time of drawing and painting and plenty of conversation. Complete beginners are very welcome as well as more experienced artists too.

If you are able to print it out the image to have it beside you whilst drawing, I'm sure you'll find this helpful on the day. Otherwise, you can perhaps view it on your phone ?

What you'll need:

A selection of 'beachy' coloured soft pastels incl blue's, beige, peach, green, dark grey, brown, purple and white

Mixed Media Paper - A4 or A3 size (or if you have it a sheet of Extra Fine Sandpaper)

(sandpaper is good because the pastels 'grip' onto it very well so it's easier to get lots of layers of different colours onto the paper)

A flat rubber/plastic spatula if you have it, (or a strong piece of cardboard or kitchen roll will do), to use as a scraper to smooth out the pastels all at once

Kitchen paper and/or baby wipes to keep your hands clean (as pastels are messy!)

How do i join?

The zoom link to join will apear above on this page at 11AM on Tuesdays. To join you will need a phone/tablet or laptop with a built in camera and microphone (most modern devices come with this) you may need to download the zoom app onto your phone if you are using a phone to join.
