Hebrews 12:1-3

​Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

​I am never going to win the race, Lord

I wasn’t built for speed

I am never going to win X factor or Strictly, Lord

My sister and brother were given those particular talents

I know my limitations

But I also know you

YOU – who are with me at the back of the field

YOU – who are with me when the prizes pass me by

YOU – who know what it is like to be me

YOU – who are with me upon waking

YOU – who help me perform all the roles of my day with ease and enjoyment

Be with me this day, and always

Amen
