Saints Alive

Hebrews 12: 1-3

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy that was set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

Lord,
Today we remembered the saints.
We had communion with them all over again.
We laughed
We cried
Somehow, we were made to feel good.
Surrounded in their company again,
We remembered their names.
Andy and Dora, Eileen and Noreen, Betty and Ann,
Dan and Liam, Margaret and Isa.
The list seemed endless.
We remembered things they said,
their smiles,
their commitment,
their faithfulness.
The church was busy this morning.
Alive you, might say.
Lord,
Remembering and resurrection go together
Lord,
keep me inspired by the presence of saints
and make me a worthy pilgrim travelling toward your Kingdom
