βSo the man named all the birds and all the animals but not one of them was a suitable companion to help him.
βLord, thank you for the wonderful beauty and complexity of your world. We thank you for the pleasure we derive from being close to the natural world. We thank you for the friendship that so many enjoy with an animal or pet that feels like part of the family, for a constant presence and a sense of responsibility and concern. We also pray for those who with a love of nature and the love of a special pet may yet still feel a sense of something missing. We pray for those who sense a frustration, a level of relationship and communication still needing to be filled. Give opportunity, give courage to be open to another and to embrace friendship, companionship, a kindred spirit, a helper, a soul-mate in the journey of life.
