The gift of beauty

1 John 3: 1-13

“We love because he first loved us”

What marvellous love the Father has extended to us! Just look at it—we’re called children of God! That’s who we really are. But that’s also why the world doesn’t recognise us or take us seriously, because it has no idea who he is or what he’s up to.

But friends, that’s exactly who we are: children of God. And that’s only the beginning. Who knows how we’ll end up! What we know is that when Christ is openly revealed, we’ll see him—and in seeing him, become like him. All of us who look forward to his Coming stay ready, with the glistening purity of Jesus’ life as a model for our own.

Living, loving glorious God!

What an amazing world this is,

I am just one tiny part of this revolving planet of yours that never ceases to delight and inspire me!

What an imagination you have...creating the sweet perfume of the blooming pink and red roses in my garden along with the lush grass and the soaring trees that stretch higher and further than I can see.

Walking along the coast I can see your work clearly...rocks on which to clamber, waves to surf and birds that duck and dive, in and up, into the beautiful sky that reminds me of how much you love the world you made. It is shining blue with those wonderful clouds which constantly change and form.

As I pause and look across this vast expanse of water my heart sings with joy for the daily excitement and privilege of enjoying this beautiful world.

Thank you for this treasured gift,

Amen
