Ecc.12:1

“Remember your creator in the days of your youth, before the day of trouble come and the years approach when you will say, “I find no pleasure in them”

There is a huge Economic gap between the rich and the poor in the city. The level of economic poverty in the slums is very high. A lot of the youth and their parents/guardians are unemployed. This means that they can not meet their basic needs resulting to a myriad of challenges. Equity in resource allocation in the city is skewed towards the minority rich. The employment opportunities available can not match the labour supply weather skilled or unskilled. Every year thousands of youth are released from institutions of higher learning as well as secondary schools. This condition has made the youth to turn to alternate sources of income which are mainly illegal activities to raise money to meet their needs.

“May the Lord remember the masses that are materially poor in the city of Nairobi. May the government institutions realise their mandate in caring for its poor in the society”
