Power in Knowledge

February 07, 2015 0 0

Colossians 1: 9-14

And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, 10 so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.11 May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, 12 giving thanks[c] to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. 13 He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Heavenly Father – today may you clothe us in power, from the source of glorious might on high. We acknowledge that it is often hard to put our knowledge of you into practice in our daily lives, by overcoming sin, temptation and the many challenges that beset us. May you grant us the power to use the wisdom and goodness that is ours in Christ Jesus in all our situations this day. That we may endure any challenges with the deep seated joy of Christ within us – the knowledge of Him giving us forbearance in all things.

We thank you for the knowledge given to us in scripture, the revealed truth that we have an inheritance as the saints of light. Thank you for choosing us to shine the light of Jesus in this world, for the sacrifice that made this possible –and may this knowledge spur us on in our lives into all that you have for us.
Amen.
