Colossians 3: 1-4 (NIVUK)

1 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

Do you see what Paul is saying here? If we are going to embrace resurrection we need to start living in such a way that we are not defeated by the failures of the world around us.

Our minds are being raised to a new way of thinking. We can’t deny the pain and the suffering,
we feel,
we see,
we encounter.
But we can react to it with a resurrection mindset. When we do, it must be hidden in Christ. We cannot claim it is our doing.

We can begin to understand our purpose through the perspective of the resurrection. Our old life’s way of reacting has gone, it is counted as dead — our new perspective is linked into Jesus. You might say we have a resurrection link, we’re networked into the bank of eternity. We can draw down from it through faith in Christ. We cannot claim it is our doing. Jesus Christ is our hidden source of income and energy. This is the energy that changes mindsets and offers a new way to live.

Old Life new Life

Lord

You are truly our hidden source

Come reveal yourself once more

Enter our homes

Our churches

Our workplaces

Come live in us

That we might live out

Resurrection

Revealing the glory of life itself

Lord

We pray for those who feel all is lost

Those who cannot hope again

Those for whom faith is a hidden mystery

And love a forlorn dream

Break through their human limitations

That they might encounter resurrection power

Revealing your glory in their lives
