Matthew 5: 6-7

Jesus said, “Blessed are the merciful
for they shall obtain mercy”

Surely it is passion for justice, mercy and truth that makes us truly human?

Listen to an answered plea for forgiveness from Micah 7.18-20 (TLB)

18 Where is another God like you, who pardons the sins of the survivors among his people? You cannot stay angry with your people, for you love to be merciful. 19 Once again you will have compassion on us. You will tread our sins beneath your feet; you will throw them into the depths of the ocean! 20 You will bless us as you promised Jacob long ago. You will set your love upon us, as you promised our father Abraham!

Martin Luther King said, "I have the audacity to believe that people everywhere can have three meals a day for their bodies, education and culture for their minds, and dignity, equality and freedom for their spirits."

A prayer for this day and everyday

Christ has

     no hands but your hands

     to do his work today:

     no feet but your feet

to guide them on his way:

     no lips but your lips

to tell them why he died:

no other love but your love

to win them to his side.
