Ephesians 5: 15-20 (NRSVA)

15 Be careful then how you live, not as unwise people but as wise, 16 making the most of the time, because the days are evil. 17 So do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18 Do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery; but be filled with the Spirit, 19 as you sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, singing and making melody to the Lord in your hearts, 20 giving thanks to God the Father at all times and for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Paul had a dream of how the new Christians emerging in his time should live and behave. Some aspects of his dreams throughout all his letters to his people were very particular to the time in which he lived. But some carry with them an essence or part of a dream that Christians today can make our own.

So…

Hello Christians and almost Christians and maybe one day Christians of the here and now. Though I am not your leader and not one of life’s Pauls, allow me to humbly offer up some dreams for you and allow me to bless you:

May you find wisdom and may it find you.

May your time on this earth be full and peaceful.

May God’s plans for your fulfilment unfold with grace.

May nothing control or overpower you but may your soul be light and Spirit filled.

May your heart and mouth sing of good things and pioneering dreams.

May you come to know how deeply God loves you.

PRAYER:

Dear God of then and now,

Hear our hopes and dreams for one another.

Take them into you with grace and pour out blessings on us all with love.

Help each and every reader to find your true heart in the words written in the Bible.

Amen
