And the angel said to them,
“Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.

Kicking leaves into air.
Patterns of branches on the horizon like crooked fingers.
The surprising warmth of the sun out of the shade.
Children games, pulling leaves over your clothes, wellies and bobble hats poking out.
Falling into drifts, trusting their cushion.
Tricks or treats and halloween,
laughing in the face of death.
In a season of patchwork forests
let us find joy upon joy.
