Listen to this daily worship

Luke 15: 1-2 (NIVUK)

1 Now all the tax-collectors and sinners were coming near to listen to him. 2 And the Pharisees and the scribes were grumbling and saying, ‘This fellow welcomes sinners and eats with them.’

God you have given us seeds of hope, love and peace to plant but we know that we have not stopped needing your help. Sometimes we hoard the seeds you give us, waiting for a better time or a better place. Sometimes we withhold them from others as if they are in short supply and must be earned.

Teach us please how to be generous with your gifts, reassure us when we worry they will run out, remind us you are eternal and not finite. Help us not to pull up every shoot in fear of weeds but to be patient and care for new growth just as you do when there is new growth within us.

Take the dust from our eyes, let us see clearly when we judge others, do not give up on us God, we will learn to be gardeners in your image, speak to us like plants, patient and forgiving we pray.

Amen
