Have Mercy on me

Mark 10:46

As Jesus and his disciples,.. were leaving the city, a blind man, Bartimaeus, was sitting by the roadside begging.  When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, ‘Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!’.

‘What do you want me to do for you?’ Jesus asked him.

The blind man said, ‘Rabbi, I want to see.’

Lord, I read of the time in Jericho where you have a busy schedule, and the buzz of the crowd and the pressure must have meant it was hard for you to hear just one voice Then desperation cries out to you and you hear, you touch an outcast, and a blind man can see again. Sometimes though we are blind on the inside. and some of the things which make us blind are of our own making. Other times, we are blinded by what others tell us, do to us, or teach us - and we too are left isolated, lonely and desperate. Then we cry out to you, and you listen, you care enough to make time for us, and make us whole. Help us to see that you are never too busy, that we are accepted as we are, and one cry is enough... Jesus have mercy on me.
Amen.
