God called the expanse ‘sky’

Peter Neilson February 05, 2013 0 0

Genesis 1:6-8

And God said, “Let there be a vault between the waters to separate water from water.”  So God made the vault and separated the water under the vault from the water above it. And it was so. God called the vault “sky.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day

And God said: ‘Let there be an expanse between the waters…..’ God called the expanse ‘sky’.

God, our Creator,

I praise you for this wonderful world.

Lord, I look up at

big skies arching over field and sea,

clouds forming and reforming

in the mile-high winds.

And beyond the clouds

more sky and more sky

reaching into the infinity of space

stretching my small mind

to bursting point.

Lord, forgive me

for shrinking You to my little world

or wrapping you around my nagging pain,

when you coax me out and up

into wordless wonder

under the sky.

God, our Creator,

I praise you for this wonderful world.

AMEN
