Ruth 2.14

At mealtime Boaz said to Ruth, “Come and have a piece of bread, and dip it in the sauce.” So she sat with the workers, and Boaz passed some roasted grain to her. She ate until she was satisfied, and she still had some food left over.

Quote

D. Bonhoeffer from ‘Life Together’ “We pray for the big things and forget to give thanks for the ordinary, small (and yet really not small) gifts.”

Give us today our daily bread, Lord.

Help us to give thanks for the bread

for those who farmed the grain,

for all involved in milling and baking,

for money to buy it,

for the retailers who sold it

and for the person who carried to our home,

even if that was ourselves.

Remind us this day, on every continent bread will be broken

In Jesus name as a visible sign of communion and community
