But what if….?

Exodus 3:13-15

But Moses protested, “If I go to the people of Israel and tell them, ‘The God of your ancestors has sent me to you,’ they will ask me, ‘What is his name? ’ Then what should I tell them?”

God replied to Moses, “I Am Who I Am. Say this to the people of Israel:I Am has sent me to you.” God also said to Moses, “Say this to the people of Israel:Yahweh, the God of your ancestors—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you.

This is my eternal name,

my name to remember for all generations.

Lord as I look ahead to the possibilities, the place you're calling me into, I stumble.

The challenges of the way ahead fill my view. I see the risks. I see the "giants". I see the possibilities of failure, of it all going wrong. These fears dwarf me - engulfing and paralysing me. The "what if"s of life somehow become more definite and I lose perspective - disoriented by the swirls of fear and doubt.

And then into the midst of my doubts You speak.

Your Word resounds through the swirling fears bringing them to a halt.

I Am.

The enormity of Your Eternal Presence fills my view - obliterating the doubt, driving away the fears, shrinking the "giants", bringing reality to my perspective.

And I worship You.
