Breadcrumbs of grace

1 Peter 5: 8-10

Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.

In our climb to the top
We remember those whose shoulders
upon which we have stood
those who have helped us up
inspiring us
and showing us the way
We remember too
those whose aspirations
we have trampled underfoot
in our race to get ahead.
We pray for grace to recognise
that we walk the road
that many have travelled before
paving the way for us
laying the foundations
on which we can build.
As we blaze our trail
may we leave a path
for others to follow
dropping breadcrumbs of grace
along the way
so that those whose journey
seems dark and uncertain
may be led
to the light of Christ
Trailblazer extraordinaire.
