Sanctuary First Connect

'Connect' is an area of our site where we post NEW material every month that is tied into our monthly themes. These PDF's and Booklets contain a wealth of reflections and questions for people to use as part of their online 'Connect Groups' or Bible Study gatherings.

The material is offered as a starting point and there is no need to go through all the questions. You can pick and choose, tailoring it to suit the needs and interests of your group. Each ‘Part’ could form the basis of a weekly roughly 90-minute meeting, but you could break it up differently.

We all come to the Bible with our own questions, insights, and barriers. The guiding principle we have in writing these is to ask questions we do not already know the answer to! Our hope is to facilitate open-ended discussions.

What is a Connect group?

‘Connect Groups’ is the name we give to small informal gatherings who decide to meet to explore the Bible alongside our monthly themes. These groups are independent, and folk can simply set up their own Connect Group themselves, meeting together with friends and family on their own basis. In this time of Lockdown when people cannot get together physically this material can still be used to get together online.

How do I get started?

To get going all you will need is a group of either family or friends that you feel comfortable sharing your faith with, there’s no limit or restrictions to the size of your group, it could be just you and one other friend, or you could tackle the material on your own. Next step is to head over to the Connect area of our site and pick one of our monthly connect PDF's. Don't feel the need to stick with the most current month's theme, if a past month jumps out at you then that can be the one you can start with.

Get everyone together either in a household - if you are of the same household - or perhaps online via, Facetime, Skype or Zoom.

Ongoing Connect Groups

If you do not have a group of people in your circle then you can always join one of the many pre-existing Connect groups that go on, simply contact us directly and we will put you in touch with the leader of the Connect group you wish to join and take it from there.

These Connect groups use the Sanctuary First Connect material and have expressed to us that they are happy to welcome new people to join them, check out which time suits you best and get in touch with us.

All these Connect groups will be held online during the Pandemic. Keep an eye on this list as it will regularly get updated as new groups start or open to new people. If you have a Connect group that you are part of that is looking for new people then please let us know.
