Week 98 - Kelpies in Watercolour

Hello again

Glad to be back after having had to cancel last weeks group at short notice. Hope you will join me online this week for some art ?

We meet every Tuesday morning from 11am to 12.15/12.30pm to draw/paint together. No experience needed. Complete beginners are very welcome.

Job 39: 19-25

19 “Do you give the horse its strength or clothe its neck with a flowing mane?
20 Do you make it leap like a locust,striking terror with its proud snorting?
21 It paws fiercely, rejoicing in its strength, and charges into the fray.
22 It laughs at fear, afraid of nothing; it does not shy away from the sword.
23 The quiver rattles against its side, along with the flashing spear and lance.
24 In frenzied excitement it eats up the ground; it cannot stand still when the trumpet sounds.
25 At the blast of the trumpet it snorts, ‘Aha!’ It catches the scent of battle from afar, the shout of commanders and the battle cry.

This week we'll paint the Kelpies statues which are in Falkirk, Scotland using watercolour paints

If you are able to print out the image to have it beside you whilst drawing, hopefully you'll find this helpful on the day. Otherwise, you can perhaps view it on your phone as this will allow you to zoom in on the detail also ?

What you'll need

Strong paper suitable for Watercolour paint (Watercolour or Multi-media paper is best)

Any size of paper (A4 or A3 would be good)

A selection of watercolour paints and/or watercolour pencils

If you do not have watercolour, you can use whatever you have available to you e.g. coloured pencils, pastels, etc

A Pencil and an eraser to loosly sketch it out

Kitchen paper to wipe brushes

A large, a small & a fine round brush for detail

Coarse or Fine Salt for sprinkling on the sky !

How do i join?

The zoom link to join will appear above on this page at 11AM on Tuesdays. To join you will need a phone/tablet or laptop with a built in camera and microphone (most modern devices come with this) you may need to download the zoom app onto your phone if you are using a phone to join.
