Week 90 - Ravens at the beach in Acrylic paint

Hi Everyone !

Apologies there was no art connection group on Tuesday 6th Feb as I had a meeting to attend that couldn't be rescheduled.

Hope you will join me online this week ? Why not invite some of your friends to join too if you can ?

We meet every Tuesday morning from 11am to 12.15/12.30pm to draw/paint together. No experience needed. Complete beginners are very welcome.

1 Kings 17 : 1-6

" 1 Now Elijah the Tishbite, from Tishbe in Gilead, said to Ahab, “As the Lord, the God of Israel, lives, whom I serve, there will be neither dew nor rain in the next few years except at my word.” 2 Then the word of the Lord came to Elijah: 3 “Leave here, turn eastward and hide in the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan. 4 You will drink from the brook, and I have directed the ravens to supply you with food there.” 5 So he did what the Lord had told him. He went to the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan, and stayed there. 6 The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and bread and meat in the evening, and he drank from the brook

This week we'll paint Ravens on the beach using Acrylic paints

If you are able to print out the image to have it beside you whilst drawing, hopefully you'll find this helpful on the day. Otherwise, you can perhaps view it on your phone as this will allow you to zoom in on the detail also ?

What you'll need

Strong paper suitable for Acrylic paint (Multi-media or Acrylic paper is best)

A3 or A4, as you prefer

A selection of acrylic paints

If you do not have paints, you can use whatever you have available to you e.g. coloured pencils, pastels, etc

A Penciland an eraser to sketch it out

Kitchen paper to wipe brushes

A large and a small flat brush & a fine brush for detail

Black Acrylic paint pen if you have one

Jar of water

How do i join?

The zoom link to join will appear above on this page at 11AM on Tuesdays. To join you will need a phone/tablet or laptop with a built in camera and microphone (most modern devices come with this) you may need to download the zoom app onto your phone if you are using a phone to join.
