Week 89 - Fruit in Soft Pastels

Hi Everyone !

Hope you will join me online this week ? Why not invite some of your friends to join too if you can ?

We meet every Tuesday morning from 11am to 12.15/12.30pm to draw/paint together.

No experience needed. Complete beginners are very welcome.

Genesis 1: 11-12

"11 Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.” And it was so. The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.

This week we'll draw a bowl of fruit using soft pastels and/or pastel pencils

If you are able to print out the image to have it beside you whilst drawing, hopefully you'll find this helpful on the day. Otherwise, you can perhaps view it on your phone as this will allow you to zoom in on the detail also ?

What you'll need

Pastel paper (or very fine sandpaper, or any strong slightly coarse paper)

Any size of paper will suit but the larger the better when using pastels - A3 is ideal

A selection of soft pastel sticks and pastel pencils if you have them

If you do not have pastels, coloured pencils will still make a lovely drawing

A Pencil or pastel pencil to sketch it out

Kitchen paper to keep your hands clean

An eraser

How do i join?
