Winning-Over Fear

July 15, 2014 0 0

2 Timothy 1:6-8

“For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. So do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord or of me his prisoner. Rather, join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God.”

Prayer “Heavenly Father, we are often in the places you call us to be in, doing the things you call us to do and yet like Timothy we can get so fearful, intimidated. The contexts we find ourselves in and the persons around us become overwhelming obstacles that intimidate us rather than being seen as opportunities for your power to be at work.

Come Lord and stir up your calling within us. Let us engage the contexts and people you call us to with power, love and a soundness of mind. By the Spirit’s help there are victories for your glory on the other side of fear and intimidation. With confidence I say Amen!”
