Upside down

1 Corinthians 13: 4-8

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

Lord,
I must seem very fickle to you
I mentioned feeling lonely on the faith Journey
And that is true, but I also like my own space

Sometimes,
I find myself losing perspective,
(Perhaps losing patience would be more accurate),
It’s the innocent things people do that become so annoying
The questions
The suggestions
The comments
The knowing looks
I hate being smothered with kindness
And I’m never sure where items for prayer stop
And items for gossip begin.

Living in community is so demanding
Thinking about others
And putting them first
doesn’t come easy to me.
Its sounds great
And I know it is the right thing to do
But it’s not easy.

Lord
We’re all such a complicated bunch
We need your company and influence on the journey
Thank you for the grace that turns me upside down
Encouraging me to practise head walking.
