The home - this is my mission space

Lord there is so much to be done here at home.
A house to be kept clean,
laundry to be done,
meals to be cooked,
children to be taken to school,
collected from school,
shopping purchased,
cakes baked,
windows washed,
garden tidied,
walls painted,
paths swept,
beds made...
the list goes on and on.
In the busyness of life,
help me to orientate myself to you,
open my life, my time, my home to others, -
to neighbours, family, friends, the unloved, the sidelined, the ignored...
Lord this home is my mission space-
help me to be radically generous with all you have given me
so that others can be open to you, my generous Father God.

Psalm 127:1-2

Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labour in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.
In vain you rise early and stay up late toiling for food to eat – for he grants sleep to those he loves
