Thank you for observant love

Listen to this daily worship
Luke 5: 1-3 (NRSVA)
1 Once while Jesus was standing beside the lake of Gennesaret, and the crowd was pressing in on him to hear the word of God, 2 he saw two boats there at the shore of the lake; the fishermen had gone out of them and were washing their nets. 3 He got into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon, and asked him to put out a little way from the shore. Then he sat down and taught the crowds from the boat.
Jesus loved people so much that he would invariably find a way to reach them with His message, so that more and more could be changed and inspired by His words.
This is how he did it on one particular day.
Spying Simon Peter’s boat just a little way out from the water’s edge, Jesus called to him and asked him to put out from the shore.
He knew his voice would travel over water, like a megaphone. So much better than trying to yell above the crowds pressing against Him. So Jesus sat down in the boat and began to teach. He observed how a boat on the water was just what he needed.
As he did so often, Jesus took the ordinary and made it sacred. He re-used a simple fishing boat as the setting for God’s work.
And so today we give thanks for observant love. Jesus clocked that boat and clocked an opportunity!
There is still a great hunger in the hearts of many people for a reassuring message from God. Jesus spoke that message and people came to hear it. He spoke with a powerful authority. His words caught people's attention and captured their hearts. Let's be people who know the message of Jesus, who live with passion the lifestyle of that message, and who, like Jesus, find innovative ways to share that message with compassion and conviction.
Prayer:
All seeing and all knowing God, thank you that you are a calling God, inviting a response from each and every one. Fill my heart, fill my eyes, fill my ears with Your love, this day. Teach me your will as I seek your guidance from the words of Scripture and from the leading of your Spirit. Then, Lord, use me to share that message to bless others and lead them to you. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
