Now my head is lifted up
    above my enemies all around me,
and I will offer in his tent
    sacrifices with shouts of joy;
I will sing and make melody to the Lord.

What songs have you been singing so far this year? I know it’s only a few days but is there a melody which has been coming back to you? Perhaps a fresh one you have never heard before or perhaps an old song which has come back to you. Can you see God sitting in a chair tapping a toe as you hum?

I love music in worship and throughout life, in fact I often find that a song will come to me with a lyric, mood or moment I need to remember to help me move forward in my day. Perhaps it has even been sent from that gentle God, toe tapping and smiling as I take the hint and make the difference.

Prayer:

Dear God of tapping toes,

Thank you for the joy of music

Bless us with good tunes

Keep our lyrics true

Sing and tap along with us as we move forward this year.
