Exodus 25: 8

The Lord said to Moses- ‘Then have them make a sanctuary for me, and I will dwell among them.’

Sunday has arrived!
Thank you,
for the joy of being able to gather with other Christians,
and worship you in freedom and peace…..

We pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ,
who meet together this day,
in secret places,
fearful of persecution or violence…..

We pray for those,
for whom carrying a Bible,
could mean prison and even death…..
We pray for those forced to meet in the darkness,
of the underground,
who have to huddle together discreetly,
who have to sing quietly,
and pray in whispers…….

We pray for those,
who worship today in the little makeshift church in ‘The Jungle’ in Calais,
and we thank you for their witness,
and the inspiration they are to us,
and we ask that you would bless their worship today,
in a special way…..

Lord God,
there is no greater joy,
than being able to gather to worship you,
to hear your voice,
through Scripture,
song,
prayer,
and reflection,
speak into the depths of our hearts……

But help us also to remember,
that you delight in our worship,
you experience the deepest of pleasure,
as we gather in your name…..
and so this morning,
through our worship,
may we offer something heartfelt and beautiful back to you,
our Creator, Redeemer,
Saviour,
and closest friend……
AMEN
