Daily Worship

Simple things

Acts 2: 44-47

All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts,  praising God and enjoying the favour of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

Simple things Lord…
not complicated…
no mission programmes or stewardship campaigns…
fundraising events…
just simply coming together, to worship, pray, break bread and share…

And daily Lord, you added to their number those who were being saved.

We get so excited when one or two people come to faith, half a dozen and we’re ecstatic…
Yet, in the early Church the number of believers grew each day.
Forgive us for setting our sights too low Lord,
help us to dream dreams and see visions of a Church that is a worshiping community,
a praying fellowship, caring and sharing…
and standing in awe and the many wonders and signs of your kingdom around us.

Amen
