Left Overs
Matthew 2:11
They went into the house, and when they saw the child with his mother, Mary, they knelt down and worshipped him. They brought out their gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh, and presented them to him.
Lord, as I clear up the left over wrapping paper, the generous post-Christmas debris, the left over people come to mind, torn up by events beyond anyones control, escaping their homes and normalities to retain their lives as refugees. Colourful crumpled paper in my hand: is this what I often offer you, Lord - the left over bits of myself and my time which no-one else has claimed? You know my constraints, what is possible - what is my part?
