Help To Trust

Matthew 8: 20

Jesus replied, "Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head."

I woke up this morning and for a moment didn’t know where I was.
They say it’s near the top of the list of most traumatic experiences,
Moving house.
We had to because of my work.
And there were tears from the wife who had such good friends,
And there were tears from the kids who loved their school,
And there were tears on that last day in Church, so much part of our lives.
And now I’m in tears.
It’s all because of me,
Everyone having to start all over again.

There are times when I hate this life,
This sense of not being in control,
At the mercy of people behind desks making decisions about me and mine.
Lord, I want security, stability and not just for me.
But how much was there ever
For Jesus with nowhere to lay His head,
For Paul constantly on the move,
For countless others not knowing if at day’s end they will have a home.
So I am asking now for help
To trust in your ways with me,
To trust in your purpose for my life,
To trust that nothing will ever separate me from your love.
