Revelation 21: 3-4 (GNT)

3 I heard a loud voice speaking from the throne: “Now God's home is with people! He will live with them, and they shall be his people. God himself will be with them, and he will be their God. 4 He will wipe away all tears from their eyes. There will be no more death, no more grief or crying or pain. The old things have disappeared.”

The Book of Revelation paints a heart-warming vision of the kingdom of heaven. One of the best parts of it all is that in heaven we are just the same people. Proverbially speaking, we may change, as water bugs grow into beautiful dragonflies. But gaining our wings does not change the people we are! The seeds we sow on earth are for all eternity. That thought invites us to think in new ways, not for this life only. God loves us into eternity.  And if love is at the heart of our lives and our relationships, it is a wonderful thought that we can love right into eternity.

Prayer:

Lord, I thank you that you are able to make all things new. Where there is hurt, suffering, struggle in our world, take it, and transform it through your love. May your light shine into dark spaces, and love conquer all. So may your Kingdom come — here on earth, as it is in heaven. Amen.
